UPDATE: Mehmaid was so popular, she’s now available on a t-shirt!
I’ve been so busy preparing for MCM Comic Con recently, and then catching up afterwards, that it feels like ages since I’ve had time for drawing. (Although I have been working on a new t-shirt design…) So it was great to get back to it and take some time out to draw this little lady, who’s been in my sketchbook for a while: Mehmaid!
Mehmaid: My unimpressed mermaid
As you know, I love puns, and my first idea was bleugh-maid – but I decided meh-maid would be a bit more pleasant and less likely to put you off your lunch. I love drawing characters with this expression – in many ways she’s similar to Great Iced Shark – they just look so fabulously unimpressed and lacking enthusiasm! Everyone feels like that sometimes.
