MCM London Comic Con May 2016

Visit us at MCM London Comic Con May 2016! It’s at ExCel in London, on 27-29 May 2016.

MCM London Comic Con

MCM Expo is the UK’s largest comic con, and is must for fans of anime, manga, cosplay, games, movies and all kinds of geeky stuff! Comics are really just a small part of comic con – although you’ll find lots of merch related to famous comics and all the big franchises, as well as the Comic Village, which is packed with indie artists publishing their own comics. There’s also anime and manga stuff, and more cosplayers than you’ve ever seen. You can also find Japanese sweets, all kinds of kawaii things, game demos, as well as stages with performances and panels. It’s a great place to take photos, geek out or go to a meet with other fans.

Last time there were over 120,000 people at MCM – it really is huge. If you like geeky things, it’s worth a visit once at least!

This time we’re excited about seeing Band Maid performing live! They’re an all-girl Japanese rock band who, as the name suggests, dress as maids! It’ll be their first performance in Europe – they’ll be there on all three days, with live performances on Saturday and Sunday, and they’ll also be holding Q&A panels and meet and greets on the JPU Records booth. You can see their timetable here.

You can also see j-pop star Amatsuki in his first UK performance. He sings Vocaloid covers, as well as anime and video game songs and his own original tracks.

I’m also very excited that Gudetama will be there! There isn’t much information about it, but there’ll be a Gudetama Tea Room on the Sanrio stand, and last time the Hello Kitty area was amazing.

Cakes with Faces at MCM

We’ll be there with our stall, where you can come and say hello and buy our t-shirts, hoodies, dresses, cushions, watches and all our cute and colourful things!

The show will be split over two sides of ExCel, and you can find Cakes with Faces in the North hall on stand BK6. That’s the same hall as VidFest, Pop Asia and the bronze and silver theatres. We’ll be in the middle, in the stands near the Pop Asia stage. It’s a HUGE show, so remember to check the floor plan so you know where to find us:

Offical Floor Plan

The official floor plan’s in the showguide, which is available online here. You can usually pick up printed copies at the information points at the show too.

Comic Con Tickets

You can get your tickets from the MCM London Comic Con website. Advance tickets cost less and it’s likely that the weekend days will sell out, so we definitely recommend getting your tickets in advance. You can get tickets for a single day or the whole weekend. Choose from Priority Entry, which gets you in earlier, or General Entry, which is an hour or two later.

Friday is always the quietest day, and Saturday gets very crowded towards the middle of the day. You’re guaranteed to see plenty of cosplayers whichever day you go! Make sure you arrive in good time, because when it’s busy there are queues to get in.

Weekend tickets have already sold out, so remember to get your tickets soon!

Comic Con Video

Here’s our video from last time so you can see what it’s like. We’ll also be filming in May – subscribe to Cakes with Faces on YouTube to catch it!
