I’m a big fan of Japan, so I was really pleased recently when Soapasaurus commissioned me to design cute characters for the packaging of a set of 3 Japan-themed soaps. They also have a pretty cool dinosaur logo (which is all important!).
Soapasaurus are a new company specialising in handmade geeky soaps. I think they’ve spotted a real niche there – geeks need to smell nice!
The soaps were released especially for Hyper Japan – Japanese Plum, Sakura and Green Tea, and I was commissioned to draw a character for each. After working on the designs it was lovely to meet Stephanie and the Soapasaurus team at Hyper Japan and smell the soaps themselves! Surprisingly I liked the green tea on the best, the scent was really fresh!
All three of the set sold out at the show, but once more’s been made they’ll be available from the Soapasaurus online shop and their stalls at other events.
