Hyper Japan Festival 2016
Come and see us at Hyper Japan 2016 in London! Hyper Japan Festival will be on 15-17 July 2016 at London Olympia.
This time it will be in the largest hall at Olympia, which is about twice the size of the hall Hyper Japan was in last time at Olympia. The summer festival is larger than the Christmas market, with more stage performances and games, and more of everything! So if you enjoyed the Christmas market, this is definitely worth a visit.
UK’s Largest Japanese Event
If you like Japan and Japanese culture, traditional or modern, you’ll find lots to enjoy:
- Japanese food stalls
- Fashion, cosplay and shows
- Games demos
- Performances from bands, dancers and artists
- Martial arts displays
- Anime and manga
- Workshops in the Hyper Creative studio
- Lots of cute and kawaii things on the stalls!
The bands and singers are always one of the best things about Hyper Japan (I loved seeing Dempagumi Inc last year!). This time you can see j-pop rap group Charisma.com and Azumi Inoue, who sang the theme song from Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Kiki’s Delivery Service. There’ll also be performances from Broken Doll, one of my favourite Japanese bands. They play upbeat punk rock, and they’re really colourful. They also have a fashion brand – I went to their shop when I was in Tokyo!
Cakes with Faces at Hyper Japan
We’ll be there – come and say hello! I’ll be posting a floor plan nearer the time, once it’s available (usually a month before the show). You can come and get Cakes with Faces t-shirts, hoodies, dresses, cushions, watches, How to Make Sushi comics and gifts – and maybe a few new things too! Take a look in the shop and plan what to get – and you can also say hello and get a photo! We’ll be filming a video at the show too, which you can be in if you want to!
Hyper Japan 2016 Floor Plan
There are two levels at Olympia Grand, and Cakes with Faces will be on booth C05 on the ground floor. Find us in the Fashion and Kawaii section, opposite Tofu Cute. The official floorplan will be available in the show guide, which you can pick up on the day.
Tickets are available on the Hyper Japan website. You can get single day tickets or a pass for all three days. Saturday is split into two sessions. If you can make it on Friday, it’s always less crowded then.
Watch our video from last time!
To see what it’s like at Hyper Japan, watch our video from Hyper Japan Christmas Market in November – we had such a great time, and it was our best show yet! The star of the stage programme was LadyBaby, who were absolutely amazing.
