Shibuya & Yoyogi Park Vlog

Chill Day in Shibuya & Yoyogi Park

Ok, so this vlog is a bit of a mishmash, but there are lots of fun moments and little things that happened. Sometimes the little things can be the most fun and memorable experiences. This was the day we went to the Persona 5 Cafe and Genki Sushi (again!) which are in separate videos.

Book Off

I’d recommend visiting Book Off if you’re into Japanese games or music. There are branches everywhere – we went to almost every one hunting for games. The prices are great. I found my best purchase of the trip in the 120 yen CD section – a handful of bargain CDs from several of my favourite Japanese ska-punk bands.

Shiba Inu

Meeting a shiba inu in Yoyogi Park

Yoyogi Park

Yoyogi Park is a fun park – there’s always lots going on! Plus, it’s right by Harajuku, so it’s a nice escape from the busy shops and a good place to sit down with a convenience store picnic. You can also walk there from Shibuya.

We’ve seen all sorts of things there – whenever I’ve been it’s always full of life, with friends hanging out and people getting up to all sorts of things. I’ve seen businessmen rehearsing a play with plastic guns, breakdancers and all sorts of buskers, along with tai chi groups and friends hanging out playing frisbee.

Meeting that shiba inu was the highlight of the trip for my friend Rachel. She’d been on the look-out of shibas and had spotted a few in the park. None of us could believe this one had a business card!!

Noodles from the Cup Noodles Museum

You can see us making the instant ramen at the Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama. It was a lot of fun, but I wasn’t expecting much from them! We’d already eaten twice that day (and to be honest we were running out of money at this point!) so they made a good hotel room tea.

They were actually pretty good – lots of flavour and maybe it was just holiday magic but they seemed better than standard Pot Noodles at home.
